Blue Ribbon Volunteers
Blue Ribbon Volunteers help plan and organize community events to raise awareness and promote prevention of child abuse including preparation for local awareness campaigns during April - Child Abuse Awareness Month. Other prevention projects could include, but are not limited to, writing newspaper articles or preparing and distributing blue ribbons and flyers/literature to doctor's offices, businesses and schools. Orientation and training is required.
Community Partners assist the CAC by supporting our efforts with special events in Chilton County. Partners seek opportunities for the CAC to be represented and participate at events in their local communities. Events and projects may include, but are certainly not limited to: wish list drive, fairs, parades and fundraising opportunities. Orientation is required. Participation as a Community Partner is on an as-needed basis. Volunteers interested in this opportunity can contact the CAC to discuss opportunities to help our efforts in your part of the county.
Breakfast Club & Supper Club
Breakfast Club & Supper Club Volunteers are responsible for providing breakfast, lunch, dinner, or refreshments for scheduled meetings, trainings, client support groups, or special events with local agencies that work with the CAC. Breakfast Club & Supper Club Volunteers help by preparing and delivering meals and snacks for regular monthly meetings or on an as-needed basis. Breakfast Club & Supper Club Volunteers must be available during the week.
The Children's Advocacy Center holds several fundraising special events each year. Flutter is our signature event that is held each February. Fundraising Friends volunteer their time by working on such committees as: live and silent auctions, decorating, entertainment, publicity, or sponsorships. If your time is limited, yet you want to help the CAC raise much needed funds, please consider becoming a Friend.
Group/Corporate Volunteer Opportunities
We enjoy having groups join us for a day or two and would love the opportunity to find the right project for your Scout troop, school, corporate or church group to undertake. Organized groups do not need to attend Volunteer Training nor be 18 years of age.
Other Volunteer Opportunities
If there is something you enjoy doing, such as, photography, scrapbooking, painting, gardening, carpentry, decorating for seasons etc., please consider donating your talents to the Children's Advocacy Center. We appreciate the time and unique skills of all our Volunteers. If you love to do fun activities with children, we also have opportunities for you.
Please call or email us and let us know your volunteer interests!
The work is very rewarding and we look forward to meeting and working with those who want to give back to the community through the local Children's Advocacy Center. Thank you for your interest and please feel free to call Jana Zuelzke, Executive Director, at 205-755-4205, should you have any questions regarding the CAC Volunteer Program.
