Stress

Stress is a common experience for all ages, but with the right strategies and support, it can be effectively managed. Fostering open communication and teaching healthy coping mechanisms play a vital role in helping navigate and reduce stress. Below are a few activities to help relieve and cope with stress.

  • Coloring/Coloring Apps: Coloring is always a fun and creative activity take the focus away from stressful thoughts and feelings.
  • Deep Belly Breathing: Deep breathing can help take in more oxygen, slow your heart rate, and create calmness during stressful situations.
  • Write in a journal:  Writing in a journal can relieve stress because it allows you to write about feelings in an unfiltered way. This can feel like a cathartic release.

It's always good to remember to ask for help. Some stressful situations aren’t meant to be handled alone, especially for children and teens. Asking for help is one of the best things to do.
